We replaced an existing low ceiling screen porch and rotted deck with a larger, high ceiling screen porch and deck made of solid red grandis eucalyptus that focuses the view to the water feature.

The porch rubber membrane roof has a minimal slope that allows the view from the window above. Inside the space the 10’ ceiling height creates a light and airy feel. The tongue and groove floor has intentional slots every few feet to permit any water that comes inside to drain through, while still being a barrier to bugs from the underside. We reduced the size of the deck and provided broad steps down to a patio of cement paving tiles that surround the base of the water feature. The landscaping was designed to work as a boulder style retaining wall with plantings.
